Plus, when you’re not in the studio, keep your workout routine on track over the holidays. Our own Eric Botsford, creative director for Tough Mudder Bootcamp, has created a Holly Jolly Holiday Circuit that you can do anywhere, anytime – no equipment needed.
Eric’s easy-to-do, 10-minute circuit will get your muscles moving, your bells jingling and your dreidel spinning.
Lateral Shuffle Steps
Standing with your feet hip-width apart, extend one leg to the side of your body and shuffle the other leg toward it, crossing the body with your hand as you side step. The key is to keep your core tight and feet squared up.
Starting from a hollow body position, touch your toes, flexing your hips the entire way to use your abs and engage your core. These ones get spicy, so you’ll feel the burn on this exercise.
Push Up with Shoulder Tap
This upper body movement focuses on core and shoulder stability as well as the chest. Get into a push-up position with your arms fully extended, then drop down and keep your elbows right over your wrists. Push your body upward and tap your shoulder with your opposite hand each and every time.
After completing the circuit, take 30 seconds of rest before starting the next round.
Do the circuit three times and enjoy the holidays with the satisfaction of knowing you’re still making progress towards crushing your fitness goals.
